Apprenticeships and Traineeships

In an Apprenticeship or Traineeship, students learn skills in either the hairdressing or beauty industry by working and training on the job and attending formal training off the job at The Australian College of Hair Design and Beauty.

In order to be eligible for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship at The Australian College of Hair Design and Beauty, students need to be employed as an Apprentice Hairdresser or a Beauty Trainee in a salon environment. An Apprenticeship or Traineeship can be studied either full time or part time. However, the length of the Apprenticeship or Traineeship depends on the specific trade, previous training or studies and how quickly the individual becomes competent in their skills.

Generally, Apprenticeships or Traineeships can be studied by individuals of any age and there are no entrance requirements. An attendance mode may be negotiated with The Australian College of Hair Design and Beauty in order to suit each individual’s salon timetable.

Recognised Prior Learning and/or Mutual Recognition is offered to students in all accredited courses under an Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
