The English Language conditions to study at the ACHDB are determined by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). Any student who is enrolled at the ACHDB must provide a minimum IELTS score as part of the student visa application process. The IELTS accepted minimum score is 5.5 for Vocational training. Note: If the course you have been offered a place in has other English requirements, then they will be outlined in your letter of offer.
Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL] refers to recognition of competencies currently held regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred. under AQTF, competencies may be attained in a number of ways, including formal or informal training, education, work experience or general life experience, In order to grant RPL, the assessor must be confident that the candidate is currently competent against the endorsed industry or enterprise competency standards or outcomes specified in AQF accredited courses.
The evidence may take a variety of forms and may include certification, reference from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples. The assessor must ensure that the evidence is authentic, valid, reliable, current and sufficient. RPL procedures ensure that each application is considered according to accreditation guidelines. The Australia College of Hair Design and Beauty recognises and accepts the credentials issued by another registered training organisation based in a State/Territory of Australia. This may include a Statement of Attainment for specific qualifications such as a Certificate or Diploma.
Before a student visa can be granted to a student under 18 years of age, the Australian Government must be satisfied that there are appropriate accommodation, support and general welfare arrangements in place for the period that the student will be under 18 while in Australia. The enrolment of school aged children in primary or secondary schools is a visa requirement. If you are an Australian Government sponsored student (e.g. IPRS), tuition fees for your children are the same as for Australian citizens. If you do not hold such a stipend, tuition fees per child may be in the thousands of dollars, as you will be required to pay full fees. Lists of schools which admit international students are available from the International Programs Office.
