Students can study either Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy as part of the VCE program. The purpose behind the VCE training programs in Hairdressing and Beauty, is to encourage students who could be likely to leave school at the completion of Year 10 without their VCE, to continue their schooling while at the same time beginning their career in Hairdressing or Beauty.
Students enrol in VCE subjects which are relevant to either the Hairdressing or Beauty industries and become involved in the transition from school to an employment environment. In addition, students attend the College one day per week for 46 weeks of the year for a period of two years (during Years 11 and 12). Students then study full time at the College during the third year for a period of approximately 6 to 9 months. This timeframe may vary from student to student, depending on the subjects obtained through credit transfer.
It is possible for students to commence at the start of Year 12 and only complete one year of the VCE program, prior to transferring to the full time course.
