VCE/VET

Students can study hairdressing or beauty as part of a VET program. The purpose behind the VET training programs in hairdressing and beauty are to encourage students who may be likely to leave school at the completion of Year 10 without their VCE, to continue their schooling, while at the same time, begin their career in hairdressing or beauty.

Students wishing to pursue this option should enrol in VCE subjects that are relevant to either the hairdressing or beauty industries and become involved in the transition from school to employment. In addition, students will attend The Australian College of Hair Design and Beauty one day a week for 46 weeks of the year for a period of two years (during Years 11 and 12). Students can then study full time at The Australian College of Hair Design and Beauty during the third year for a period of approximately six to nine months, depending on their final qualification choice.

It is possible for students to commence this program at the start of Year 12 and only complete one year of the VET program prior to transferring to the full time course.
There is no ENTER score for this program.
